Imagination ~ Pic and a Word Challenge #129

In the dimness
I saw a monster on my bed
But just a towel
In a jumble
A child’s mind
Trying to make sense

In reflections
I see a dragon breathing fire
But just a building
With a light on
Like the child
Imagination still at play

Should the day come
When I see only what’s there
No monsters, no dragons
Which I playfully must slay
How sad I will be
In a world so plain and grey

Wisdom ~ Pic and a Word Challenge #124

A broom
To sweep away
The detritus

Of wisdoms found
And wisdoms lost
Wisdoms over-written

Time-worn wisdoms
Worn out
Worn down
Worn through and through

Worn like a cloak
Like a shield
Or wielded
Like a sword

Bon mots
Of thought

Here collected
Erased
Memorized
Forgotten

Fragments of
Fragmentation

Misjudged
Misunderstood
Misapprehended
Mistaken

The nattering
Incessant
Of those
Who tell
But do not ask
Themselves

And should not
     Yes
     There’s the rub

Instead be
Silent

Who am I?

This wall
Has no wisdom
For me

Words
They clutter up
My consciousness

Lead me astray
Turn me away
From where I find
The one true I
Deep inside

I breathe
Let go

In quiet mind
At the core
Of silence find
The I that is not I
But All
And One

That is all
I need to know
This simple wisdom

All are One

What more is there
To ask?

Silhouette ~ Pic and a Word Challenge #123

Three figures teeter on distant rock
Silent silhouettes
Animate without the subtlety of gesture
Barely beings
Tottering along
A knife’s edge horizon

Three lives there
Faceless beneath the clouds
Unknown
Unknowable
But for outlines
Against the sky

One drops off the world
Lost forever
To anonymity
But for the unnamed character
Forming in the theatre
Of my mind
