Sun burns white hot
Through dissipating fog
Sets wildflowers ablaze
With its morning rays
Sonic beacon rendered mute
Its clarion calls to clarity
Invited cerulean hues
A day begun
In dour temper
Manifests its beauty

Patrick reads Inviting Clarity, with commentary
There’s additional commentary on the writing of this poem in the reading I recorded.
I tried something new: recording commentary without first writing a script. A bit hit and miss, but certainly a much better performance than the first time I tried recording commentary without one. I spent as much time in the edit of that one deleting “ummm” and “uuuhhhh”s as I would have just writing the script in the first place.
This time? One “ummm” and an “uuuhhhh”. Not bad. Though, I did have to edit a lot for cadence, removing a slew of dead-air pauses. Even in the middle of sentences. smh
Learning!
I’m not going to transcribe that commentary for here. So, I invite you to listen to it above.
I also invite your critiques of the commentary, well, of anything about this post and the blog, but especially the readings. I’m trying to figure out podcasting and, well, I’ve got a lot to learn. You can comment below, or use the Contact Form.
Thanks, in advance. 😉
