patience

Patience ~ Quaco Head - UNESCO Fundy Biosphere Reserve, St. Martins, New Brunswick, Canada

I came for sunrise
Woke early for
Golden hour glory

Instead, the fog
Cast a shroud
A pall upon the morning

Patience
The sun will out
And so it did

A moment, perhaps
More glorious
Than the moment sought

Expectation
Patience
Adaptation

Speaking of expectation, patience and adaptation… just when I thought I was on a roll, a quick stop in New Hampshire for a visit with a friend and a few small repairs to the teardrop trailer turned into a major overhaul. Weeks became months before the trailer was ready for a new road test.

Three days and several hundred miles later I’m deep into New Brunswick (Sussex, for those who care to google it) on a long weekend. Back in St. John,  yesterday, I discovered a small mechanical issue (loose bearing spindles on both trailer wheel hubs) that has now progressed to the point it needs attention before putting down any more kilometers.

So, I’m “informal camping” in a Wal*Mart parking lot (local campgrounds are, of course, full, it being a long weekend). Hopefully, come Tuesday, I’ll be able to find a mechanic available to make the required adjustment (and hope also that there isn’t any damage due to driving on the loose spindle).

In the meantime, and — I suppose — on the plus side, I’ve got some time to sit, reflect, edit some photographs, and write a post or two, while downing a cup of joe at the Tim Horton’s adjacent to the Wal*Mart.

Scattered clouds an sunshine outside, though, in a sense, the fog’s still a bit thick on the day. Still, there is a hint of sunshine lifting over the horizon. 😉

Life on the road… lessons. <grin>
