A Billion Years of History

Tempting it is
To call this landscape
Barren

No life
No green
No creatures
Scurrying

(Or so it seems)

But apparent are
Rich textures of rock
And a billion years
Of history
Before a human
Ever walked

Strata and Smoke
Rocky Mountains
Icefields Parkway
Banff National Park
Alberta, Canada
