I remember
It’s just a star
Sometimes
I realize
The magic of its light
Most days
It rises, it sets
Another day gone by
But today
It’s magic
And so am I
Sometimes
I realize
The magic of its light
Most days
It rises, it sets
Another day gone by
But today
It’s magic
And so am I
A rugged shoreline
In splendid
Repose
While I
Breathe silently
In time
With the rush of ocean
Upon the land
Dappled sun
Offers
Tonic warmth
I look to the sea
Realizing
They’re already here
While I ride the storm
Sleek and smooth
A dulcet caress
Much as I
On challenged path
Lose my balance
Then regained
A beacon there
Should day grow dark
The beach
Sunshine and sand
Wind and waves
Blankets and bikinis
Children and sand castles
Umbrellas and Ray Bans
Chesterman
Not quite
Such a beach
Black rock
Ensconced
Wind whistles
White capped crests
Sea slashed shore
Lacerated stone
Red cap warns
Three lives there
Faceless beneath the clouds
Unknown
Unknowable
But for outlines
Against the sky
One drops off the world
Lost forever
To anonymity
But for the unnamed character
Forming in the theatre
Of my mind
An Island without shoreline
Whose only boundary is infinity
The same Island that is every other being
Who has ever existed
Who will ever exist
