I make my way
Stutter stride
Across uneven rock
Where scattered life
Though clinging, thrives
Much as I
On challenged path
Lose my balance
Then regained
A beacon there
Should day grow dark
Much as I
On challenged path
Lose my balance
Then regained
A beacon there
Should day grow dark
Still, there is the blue sky
And the sun
I bask in its warmth
Smell the grass
Breathe the fragrant air
I remind myself
Fog is ephemeral
And there is always this high ground
Above the fog
Even if I can only reach it
By closing my eyes
And remembering this moment
This is what I live for
Finding a new path
To a beautiful place
Rarely visited before
But I live too
For the well-worn trail
The short, easy hike
To a well-known vista
Of no small beauty
Well
Faith
And experience
There is
Always
A path
And the tunnel
Is only the sum of my fears
Confining me
Could I have been better
At this or at that
Had I offered more devotion
But of all the this
And all the that
Just two devotions have mattered
More this:
The journey here
Intends to scale
The mountains of
My inner life
In these foothills, at Rishikesh
