The flotsam and jetsam
Of mes forgotten

Wash ashore

There to be beachcombed
Collected and collated
Discovering the pieces
For a me I can reconstruct

Love Cannon Beach. I spent a week there in1981 when I ran away from home and did a one week writing workshop there. Changed my life.

      <smile> Definitely worth a return. If you can take the time, The coast from Big Sur, CA right up to Astoria, Oregon is good for at least a week, with stops at some great National Parks along the way and as side trips.

        I’ve done it, Patrick. Many times. When I was living in L.A. and looking for the next place to live where I could afford to quit working and do art and writing full time, I drove the coast from Mexico to Canada. When we settled on Boulder Creek near Santa Cruz, our best friend lived in Happy Camp Oregon, and another farther up the coast, so we drove there often..

        The whole of the Pacific Coast from LA right up to the Washington State border is my favourite drive on the planet. The section north of San Francisco through Mendocino is magic.

        Yes.. we considered Mendocino as a place to live, but it was so far from everywhere and we were doing shows almost every weekend our first few years after we moved.
