Diffuse light in dispersing fog
Daisies, clover and buttercups
Stretch into morning
Pastel whispers from daylight skies
Beacon’s warning
Smothered by the mist
So she howls
Into unknowable voids
Lest any run astray
To foul upon the stone
This wall between
The land and sea
While daisies, clover and buttercups
Tremble in the breeze
Beacon Amid the Daisies

Patrick reads On Beacons and Buttercups
Reading of On Beacons and Buttercups with foghorn sound effect
I’ve started to include recorded readings for the poems I post. It’s definitely a learning process, providing a lot of insight into how to use my voice to help the words sing.
I would love to hear any comments you have, either here in the comments section or by using the Contact Form, if you prefer.
There are two separate readings here, the second includes a recording of a foghorn, much like the one I heard the day I shot this photograph. Does the additional sound add anything to the reading for you?
Constructive criticism is welcome. ❤
