Moon Rise

The sun had set, and though there remained delightful colour in the sky, it would be dark by the time I completed the half hour hike back to the parking lot. So I packed my camera gear away, shouldered the pack, and turned to bid good night to the two women I’d been chatting with as I photographed the sunset.

That’s when I noticed the clouds had cleared some more, to reveal a perfect crescent moon. <sigh>  Out came the camera gear again. Well, just the X-T2 camera with the 10-24mm zoom still attached. 

I allowed myself just one shot.

It was indeed pitch black dark before I even reached the parking lot, despite the crescent moon’s best efforts to illuminate the Earth.
