Pinnacles

Pinnacle rises
From valley floor
Testament to
Reaching for the sky

I remind myself
The valley once
Was plateau
Thrust up high
Then worn away
By time and weather

The pinnacle becomes
A testament
To perseverance
To weathering
The many storms
To standing tall
While all around me
Crumbles
And falls away
