Summer teases
With green and warmth
Days on the lake
Hiking the valley trails

But way up high
Where mountains pierce the sky
Winter lingers still

I admire the beauty
Of ice and snow
Clinging to bare black rock

Paddling across the rippled water
With the cool breeze of early summer
Soft across my skin
