Gas Station Ruins, Route 66, Mojave Desert, California, United States of America
The truth is
I’ve rarely discovered
My own limits

Walls
Real and perceived
Have two sides

The one I’m on
The one I’m not

It is a rare wall
Which cannot be defeated
Which allows no means
To the other side

A door
A window
A ladder
A walk around
A wrecking ball

Or, most simply
The recognition
Most walls are
Imagined

My limits are
Desire
Ambition
Will
Imagination
Industry
Tenacity

These are always
Self-imposed or
Self-defined and
Can always be expanded

Everything else
Is a challenge
To which I rise
Or do not

But I live this too
Leaving a wall
Where it stands
Is not always defeat
