When night falls
And the first stars
Begin to twinkle
In the darkening sky
And the first stars
Begin to twinkle
In the darkening sky
I am reminded
Earth is a very small place
And I
I am a very small man
A point of consciousness
In a vast sea of matter
To which I do not matter
At all
This could crush any ego
Which might be a tragedy
If I wanted one
Ego-less, I am left to bask
In the delightful beauty
The magnitude of all that is
On this little ball of gas-sheathed rock
Circling a star that paints this night sky
Violet
Nightfall
