Pregnant Calm

Howe Sound, Pporteau Cove, British Columbia, Canada
In the cool grey
Of a cloudy afternoon
The air so still
Even the birds respect the silence

In repose
I reflect
On the day that has been
On the day to come

Until
Like the birds
I respect the silence
Let my mind go still

All my existence
What has been
What will be
Collapses into

This place
This moment
This perspective
On all that is

Every moment
Gives birth
To the next
I come alive

Again
and
Again

Howe Sound

April is National Poetry Month and I am participating in the National Poetry Writing Month challenge (NaPoWriMo) — 30 poems in 30 days. Although, I’ve gotten a bit ahead — this is, I think, poem #45. =)

All the poetry I write for National Poetry Writing Month can be found tagged as #NaPoWriMo.
