Visiting an ant’s world

I step up to the rim
Take out the camera
And begin to snap
Feverishly
In the failing sunlight

When it’s no longer possible
To get an image
With a hand-held camera
I sit down
And bask in the immensity

Suddenly
It comes to me
What it must feel like
To live in an ant’s world

If an ant could sit
At the edge of its world
And ponder
Its own
Insignificance
