Before the sun crests the sky

Sometimes, just before the sun crests the sky
I close my eyes
Let the colours flood my mind
And fill my heart

I listen to the earth
And her creatures
Awakening

I breathe the promise
Of a new day come to light

And await the warmth of another sun
