I love the red earth
The red rock
This sunburned country
The red rock
This sunburned country
It touches my soul
I love the spinifex
And wallabies
The emu and kangaroo
I love the people
Ancient and new
Hardened by the land
Softened by their humanity
This land sings
Like the Dreamtime ancestors
Who sang the land into being
It sings to me
A serenade
A seduction
An open invitation
I wonder
Will I heed the call
A third time
Or have I journeyed there
Already a third time
The first in some distant past
In another life
On this land which seems
So sweetly familiar
