Boxes & Triangles

Boxes & Rectangles
Little boxes and triangles
Plunked down
And anchored

In a landscape
Buffeted by winds
Battered by waves

The land and flora
Shaped, shattered,
Broken and splintered

I chuckle
At human efficiency
Amidst the wild land

Wonder
At the mundane cages
We build around ourselves

So we can be
Close
To nature

Marvel
That while we are of nature
We have forgotten how to be

Nature

In a land
Where the only straight line
Is the horizon

And even that
Is truly a curve

Somewhere along the Pacific Coast Highway (I think)
Northern California, United States of America
