Rock and River

The Colorado
Takes a pause
Between a hundred million days

Yet still it lives
In silent scream
O’er temporary stays

The power of the earth
To move
Beneath the surface lays

For creatures come
And creatures go
Beneath the sun’s blue rays

But rock and river
Resolute
Will one day have their say
