In the dawn time

In the dawn time
In the dawn time

When the light lies low
Yet vibrant

When the dew clings
And the earth seems still

But for the footfalls
Of joggers
And the calls
Of crows and gulls

In the dawn time

When my inner silence
Becomes outward peace

And a gentle breath
Inhales all creation

OK, I know this image wasn’t taken at dawn. It’s well after sunrise, in fact. But with the tone of light, the dewy grass, the joggers… it feels like dawn. And from that feeling sprang this poem.
