I enter the day
Warming slowly
To the light
The birdsong
The clackety rumbling
Of footfalls and engines
Outside the window
As existence draws me back
Into being
Though, really
I could do with a few more hours
Of non-being
Though, really
I could do with a few more hours
Of non-being
Cast by the weak glow
Of a wan sun
Frustrated by the dull grey
Of the everyday
He stood apart
Waiting for trains
For the one
Which never arrived on time
And for the one
Which would never arrive
And in this lies
A beauty plain
Where truth is told
In high relief
No shadow cast
No grey to mask
On one side white
The other black
Awakened human spirit
A grace divine replies
The night is done
New day is come
I breathe in deep
Exhale a grateful sigh
I flow through the world
And experience
Places
Moments
History
Present
I connect with people
And experience
Variance
Possibility
Convergence
Dichotomy
Blue on blue
On blue on blue
Morning sun
Peeks on through
The clouds on high
The smoke below
But in my heart
The golden band
Offsets the black
Below the blue
This light which cuts
And penetrates
Ennobles sky
With amber hues
A crown upon
These broody blues
I rise into
New light of day
One below
One above
One beyond
And I wonder
At the span
In time
In distance
In possibility
While beginning
To descend
Knowing that time
And distance
Conspire
Against
Possibility
Back to Earth
Dreaming of space
In another time
No matter
The quality
Of the scene
Or moment
Daytime dreams
To be fulfilled
Until sunset sky’s
Reminder
Possibility Illumines
Nighttime dreams
Which carry me
Except
Perhaps
Sunrise
