The light at the end of the tunnel
Is only light
And the tunnel
Is only the sum of my fears
Confining me
And the tunnel
Is only the sum of my fears
Confining me
The light is soft
Though harsh
Streaming in
Through doors
All open
On the right
An inviting light
Nonetheless too bright
And as I tread
Ever-so-gingerly
Down the corridor
Blue on blue
On blue on blue
Morning sun
Peeks on through
The clouds on high
The smoke below
But in my heart
The golden band
Offsets the black
Below the blue
This light which cuts
And penetrates
Ennobles sky
With amber hues
A crown upon
These broody blues
I rise into
New light of day
Light comes
Driving air
Down the valley
Clearing atmosphere
Of smoke and mist
Ohm, I sing
Into heart
Into center
Into spirit
Quick glances to the valley below
Hoping for enough light
To capture the clouds in the valley
To find detail in the trees
And the valley mist
Finally, set up
And capturing frames
When I begin to notice
As one light fails
Another rises
For in the darkness
Beauty thrives
Captured here by glassy eyes
Often
That is enough
To learn the nature of darkness
So I may seek the source
Beyond the world I know
