In a world gone awry
Yet burgeoning
With the potential
For growth and new life
He clung to the old ways
Like a dead leaf
To a broken stem
On a barren tree
In the dead of winter
Yet burgeoning
With the potential
For growth and new life
He clung to the old ways
Like a dead leaf
To a broken stem
On a barren tree
In the dead of winter
He lived
In oblivion
Surrounded by
Possibility

This tree is outside my window, right in front of the desk where I write many of these posts, edit and post-process many of the photographs you see here. For months, near the top, this one dead leaf — the only leaf left on it — has clung on for… well …dear life. Meanwhile, buds for next spring’s growth have formed, despite the frigid temperatures which have created so much snow, ice and havoc in Vancouver this winter.
