No blue calm sea

Storm, Howe Sound, Sea to Sky Highway, British Columbia, Canada
The wind blows hard
Straight up the sound
Where whitecaps roll
Against the tide

The scene reminds
Of days gone by
The stormy times
The years I lost

Blown well off course
Blown all to hell
But I rowed back
Against the swell

And now I rest
In sheltered cove
Holed up and safe
Won’t venture forth

The storm awaits
Won’t be put off
I’ll have to ride
The waves again

Truth be told
I kind of miss
The wild ride
The hard drive back

This small respite
Is all I’ll need
Can’t say I love
A blue calm sea
