Black Tusk

Black Tusk
Proud Spire
Emergent
Thrusting through
The confines
Of rock and ice

I sought you
Across lands and seas
And wasted tracts
Of sand and rubble

To find you, here
King of high domains
Lord of life
Keeper of molten earth

Once merciless
Malevolent
Slayer
Creator of mountains

Now in repose
Unassailable
Enthroned
Waiting

I am come

Actually, Black Tusk is the remnant of an ancient, dormant volcano. The spire was molten rock which did not escape the cinder cone, in which it came to rest, cooled and hardened. Overtime, the cinder cone eroded away, leaving a once molten pinnacle behind.

But, hey, never let the truth stand in the way of a poetic image.
