In this pastel calm
My breath but a ripple
In the gentle breeze
Quiescent mind
Blood rhythms
Salt air rendered
Tide pungent
Ocean whispers
Sibilant
On the shoreline
Shhhh
Shhhhhh
Shhh
Shhhhhhhhh
Quiescent mind
Blood rhythms
Salt air rendered
Tide pungent
Ocean whispers
Sibilant
On the shoreline
Shhhh
Shhhhhh
Shhh
Shhhhhhhhh
Existence set
In time and place
Yet all at once
I’m every where
I’m every thing
I’m not at all
To be
And not
To be
Outside
The first layer
When the All
Which is everything
Becomes the One
Which is nothingness
I seek the moments
When paradox
Becomes awareness
Then am I filled
With the insight of mystery
The light of darkness
Then being becomes non-being
Still the shadow of nature
Falls upon me
With her supple forms
Her irregular grace
So I quiet the urge for being
Let her sunshine warm me
And become the bough
Blowing in the wind
Calm as the air
Calm as the water
Resolute as the mountain
Free as the clouds
In a silence unbroken
But for the loon’s plaintive call
I sit
And rest
All there is
Is me
And nature
Until
I discovered non-being
And realized
Being
Was not
All it was cracked up
To be
I think of time
As if it were
A thing
Of itself
As if it were
A force ravaging
My body
My memories
