Tenacity
Life finds it way
To barren rock
Beside a salty sea
Whether just a patch of green
Or misshapen spindly tree
Harassed by wind’s
Ferocity
Life grows
It plunders
Empty place
Fills it with
Such beauty
Grace
Whether just a patch of green
Or misshapen spindly tree
Harassed by wind’s
Ferocity
Life grows
It plunders
Empty place
Fills it with
Such beauty
Grace
May these fill
Your holiday
Your every day
Your life
And the lives of those
Who share your days
But point him down the hill
He’ll let them run
With surprising grace
And fluidity
Even under leaden sky
There is some magic yet
When lone gull wings
On rippling breeze
Grace in its poise
Careless of thought
Satisfied in arc
And swoop of flight
Which lifts me too
From baleful earth
Between the greys
Of clouds and sea
Glorious hours
Connect me
To all
In grace
Seen and unseen
Known
And unknowable
Mystery
And divinity
All that ever was
All that will be
All that is
Becomes
One
Awakened human spirit
A grace divine replies
The night is done
New day is come
I breathe in deep
Exhale a grateful sigh
Others find their way to gentle currents
Return to form from which they spawned
Then seek again the path to sky
Transform, renewed, to lightest flakes
And try once more for beauty’s grace
I love more what will change
The injustices which endured
Through the long history
Of intransigent ignorance
And self-interest
But have no place
In a conscious society
