Through the gloom
You reach out
To offer light
And energy
Through the gloom
You reach out
To offer light
And energy
Sun hangs low on the horizon
Light subdued behind cloud bands
Tide well out
Yet still receding with haste
Earth’s exhaustion
Feels equal to my own
So I amble back to the trailer
With daylight’s final ember
Sizzling out
On the muddy shore
Long days on the road
Have eaten away
At my reserves
So the tide may remain out
For a few days yet
While my inner sun
Recharges
Under the wan light
Of stars in a new moon sky
I leave him
As an arc of energy
From the light
Which taught me love
Into a darkness
I once feared
But accepts me
With a grace
And love
Greater than any
I have known
Even his
And in that moment
The darkness itself
Becomes light
From the black
My spirit rose
Found the path
Where current flows
The energy
Connects us all
And me to me
The deepest part
I come to know
In violet light
Is bathed
They rush onto the long
Shallow slope of sand
Which gradually saps their strength
Reduces their presence
Until they peter out before me
Weakened to ripples
Barely able to disturb the sand
Not by touch
Nor sight
Nor sound
Not by smell
Like a sphere of presence
A sphere of influence
Because others
Feel me, this way
And I feel them
Like I know them
