The subject
Of any investigation
Is not always as interesting
As the context of its conditions

To keep my darkness contained
To keep me safe inside
To keep the searing light out

The light
It hurt too much
I saw too much
I felt too much

Darkness was cool

For his perseverance

In the quiet of my living room
Until its compressor turns off

I do not notice the darkness
In the blink of an eye
