Crashing down
Leaving me sputtering
Gasping

Every now and again
I catch one
A long glorious ride
Exhilaration
Exultation
Delightful experience

I lie back upon the grass
Beneath a clear night sky
Wond’ring at the vastness

In a tiny dot
Of twinkling light
A hundred billion stars reside

The moon slides by
Smiling at me

Full and proud
Chest puffed out

A tiny ball of dust and rock

Climb up into darkling sky
Long before the sun awakes
Ambush it there
In its rising shout
Neon rainbow
Across the world
Beyond the edge
Of Earth
Beyond the realm
Of life itself
