Constructed Reality ~ NaPoWriMo Day 17

A New Light, Kunjapuri Devi Temple, Himalaya Foothills, Near Rishikesh, Uttarakhand, India

This light
This scene
This Earth

Only we humans
Can make of this

Hell

In nature’s kill
Know instinct is integrity

In consciousness
Is born the lie
Cruelty, and malfeasance

At dawn I climb the mountain
To remind my consciousness

Of beauty and awe and goodness

A New Light

Day 17 … sunrise at Kunjapuri Devi Temple near Rishikesh.

We arrived a little too late for the exquisite reds. But these gentler hues proved special enough.

Once the sun rose and the colours faded, we enjoyed some morning yoga in this very special place. ❤

What is NaPoWriMo? National Poetry Writing Month.  AKA GloPoWriMo for Global Poetry Writing Month because, you know, it’s a worldwide event. During the month of April, poets challenge themselves to write at least one poem a day, every day, for the entire month. So, 30 poems in 30 days.

If you’d like to join in, or just want to learn more about this annual poetry writing event, the more-or-less official website is NaPoWriMo.net.

I am also one of the admins for a small, private FB group, NaPoWriMo/GloPoWriMo 2025 if you want to follow other poets on their journey. Just click “Join”.
