Where am I going
Where is this road taking me
How am I going to get past this
I stop
Reconnoitre
Check the maps
Consider my options
Except for some times
I stop
Reconnoitre
Check the maps
Consider my options
Except for some times
But light
Sweet lover
Always generous
She seeks me
In the dark places
Offers illumination
Insight
Beauty boundless
Marking the pathway
To epiphany
I call for it
In times of need
Or if too dark
It calls on me
It guides me true
Though rarely easy
But I know my path
When e’er I follow
My golden heart
Then I turn forward
Take the next step
With a clearer vision
Of the trials and adventures
The path ahead promises
Sometimes
I think
The road unknown
Explores as much
The me I do not know
Which is all the more enticing
Than the me I believe is me
But the comfortable path
Is not always the best path
Or the true path
So I try to remember
Keep exploring
In silence
I listen
In darkness
I find light
In mystery
I find insight
In questions
I find…
Until
I discovered non-being
And realized
Being
Was not
All it was cracked up
To be
I only have a glimpse
Of the way ahead
Through difficult terrain
Many sections of the path
Remain obscured
And the final destination
Still lies beyond
The visible horizon
I stop and look back
Along the path I’ve travelled
Not to see where I’ve been
Not to linger on what I’ve done
Not to consider the path I’ve followed
I want to see
What fell out of my peripheral vision
What cannot be seen moving forward
