In times of trouble
Or anxiety
I reach for Earth
From which I came
And which sustains me
Where resides peace
In times of trouble
Or anxiety
I reach for Earth
From which I came
And which sustains me
Where resides peace
Every now and again
Quite often, to be honest
It’s important to just stop
Interrupt the flow
Of negativity
And touch Earth
Literally and figuratively
Grounding
Being grounded
Is of itself no map for the lost
But if my feet aren’t on the ground
Then no map can guide me
Nor can I find my way
rain falls
pittering the leaves
pattering the earth
nature’s sutra
gently chanted
outside my window
inside
warm
and calm
quiet mind
full heart
present in the moment
Connection
Transition
Evil subdued
Peaceful detachment
Rain quells nature’s sounds
No songbirds sing
No children shout
Ours are the only ears
To hear
The gentle white-noise patter
Of rainfall
Coming back to Earth
I remind myself
To love and revere every being
Every living thing as if
Each were a god or bodhisattva
Until they are taller
Than I
Until they are taller
Than trees
Until they are taller
Than mountains
Not to prove
That I am bigger
But in homage
To what is bigger
Than I
