No more than an Island
In space and time
An Island without shoreline
Whose only boundary is infinity
The same Island that is every other being
Who has ever existed
Who will ever exist
An Island without shoreline
Whose only boundary is infinity
The same Island that is every other being
Who has ever existed
Who will ever exist
I capture a moment
In an infinity of moments
Preserved only for so long
As time will allow
Longer than memory, perhaps
A record of my existence
Contemplate
Infinity
The great beyond
The littlest things
Quazar
Quanta
All that is
Material
Close my eyes
Another look
A look within
A look without
With an electron microscope
I cannot see within the smallest part of me
With the clearest mirror
I cannot see the me that is me
With the mightiest pen
I cannot set down the words defining me
With the cleverest mind
I cannot imagine the bounds of me
With the truest heart
I love, which is all I need to know of infinity
And I
Might have driven by
Then this moment lost
To the forever
Of infinite unconscious
When the All
Which is everything
Becomes the One
Which is nothingness
I seek the moments
When paradox
Becomes awareness
Then am I filled
With the insight of mystery
The light of darkness
Then being becomes non-being
But moments such as this
Fuel my imagination
And stoke my passion
For contemplation
There are rare moments of connection
When I can “see” all that is
Know that I am some infinitesimal
Physical
Small part of it all
