Fearless
She danced
As if everyone was watching
Everyone was
She danced
All the better for it
Though some grew anxious as
She danced
Fearless
Fearless
She danced
As if everyone was watching
Everyone was
She danced
All the better for it
Though some grew anxious as
She danced
Fearless
I like to imagine
Mother Nature kicking back
In her Adirondack
Enjoying the majestic dance
Of her creation
Choreographed with geological rhythm
The chuckles she must chortle
As all her little creatures
Scurry about the stage
Like so many Keystone Kops
In a silent era comedy
None more ridiculous
Than we
I travel along
The thin edge of life
Steep hillside above
Roiling sea below
Confined
Yet
Content
Breakers rumble
And susurru
Their soothing song
While the drive
Becomes dance
With the curves
And rolls
Keeping time
As if the lilt
Of the waves
Sing the highway
Into being
May these fill
Your holiday
Your every day
Your life
And the lives of those
Who share your days
The world moves
In ways…
I had no idea
Standing by the camera
As it click-click-clicked
The cars, I watched
The boat across the sound
I saw it too
But the clouds
I couldn’t see, in real time
Their two-way dance
I mind
Not a bit
Becoming one
With it all
Just me
And the land
And the dance
Of the road
Everyday:
A little music
A little dance
Even better:
A lot
She danced
As if every word she’d ever spoken
Could be translated
To a gesture, a swirl, or a twirl
She danced
And all I knew was
I wanted to be there on the dance floor
With her, now and forever
