With line and square
I fix the world
In sight and mind
The world I build
Becomes this kind
While Nature’s skilled
Geometry
Is rarely square
Organically
Math more complex
So beautifully
While Nature’s skilled
Geometry
Is rarely square
Organically
Math more complex
So beautifully
I seek the frame
In which destruction’s beauty
Can be seen
We roll on through
With singing tires
On bitumen
Both dreaming of
This singing land
With light and mass
We shape the world
For beauty’s sake
I love the way
Mind renders lines
To pleasure me
I live in a world
Of song and voice
Of love and wisdom
With their first step
Began their song
Which made the land
I stand upon
Mine is the hand with the eye
We create spaces
Walk away from them
Return, re-visit, renovate
We take what was
And make of it
Something else
Whether for utility
Or a statement
