Which accompanies a smile
Shared among strangers
An intimacy to be treasured
Brothers and sisters
Of the world
We bring its people together
Than when my mind is quiet
Connected to all things
At peace with myself
And the moment, just as it is
And then
I remember
I am the universe
I am the cool
And the warmth
I am the calm
I didn’t intend to write the following, it’s just what came out. It’s not really what the challenge called for, so I’ll go back and try that one again. But I thought it was worth posting anyway. . .so here it is.
1. There’s a spiritual sensation of connectedness I get from time to time, a few moments in time that feel as though I’m connected to and can sense the existence of all things, an awareness that there is a grand spiritual reality beyond my rational ken that is graspable by my ever developing being.
Of wisdoms found
And wisdoms lost
Wisdoms over-written
Time-worn wisdoms
Worn out
Worn down
Worn through and through
Worn like a cloak
Like a shield
Or wielded
Like a sword
Bon mots
Of thought
Here collected
Erased
Memorized
Forgotten
Fragments of
Fragmentation
Misjudged
Misunderstood
Misapprehended
Mistaken
The nattering
Incessant
Of those
Who tell
But do not ask
Themselves
And should not
Yes
There’s the rub
Instead be
Silent
Who am I?
This wall
Has no wisdom
For me
Words
They clutter up
My consciousness
Lead me astray
Turn me away
From where I find
The one true I
Deep inside
I breathe
Let go
In quiet mind
At the core
Of silence find
The I that is not I
But All
And One
That is all
I need to know
This simple wisdom
All are One
What more is there
To ask?
The clouds
A battery of waves
Roll across the sky
I lose myself
In the rumbling hiss
Of wind and white water
Taste the salty air
On my lips
Breathing deeply
Perhaps enlightenment
is the condition
when all four
flow together as one
Glorious hours
Connect me
To all
In grace
Seen and unseen
Known
And unknowable
Mystery
And divinity
All that ever was
All that will be
All that is
Becomes
One
