From here to anywhere
Though oft I cross
In naught but metaphor
Still, if I land
On farther shores
Though metaphor
They be
Still, if I land
On farther shores
Though metaphor
They be
I love more what will change
The injustices which endured
Through the long history
Of intransigent ignorance
And self-interest
But have no place
In a conscious society
The Rain
The Sun
The Cold
The Heat
In the many battles of opposites
Nothing lasts forever
Except balance
Time is always active
Always present
Always changing
Only consciousness
Forgets
Or represses
Time is always moving
Cultures move on
People move on
But every time
I find a wall
Which limits me
And makes me small
I push it back
A little way
Become a bigger
Man that day
I wonder at it
Why it won’t just
Wash away
Instead, oh instead
It just piles up
Detritus
But when I look more closely
Therein lies the beauty
I see the endless changes
And nothing less
So I wonder
Am I sure to reach my goal
At the end of this valley
