Dreaming of Space
Between three globes
One below
One above
One beyond
And I wonder
At the span
In time
In distance
In possibility
While beginning
To descend
Knowing that time
And distance
Conspire
Against
Possibility
Back to Earth
Dreaming of space
In another time
Being Home
I began to understand
How much, in that moment
Home was where I wanted to be
Not for its familiarity
Nor for its comforts
Nor even its dull grey beauty
But for its being
An integral part
Of my being
Divine Smile
Of the many Buddhas I’ve seen
In Thailand
Malaysia
China
Japan
Though, not the laughing Buddha
The plump one
In the midst of
A rollicking guffaw
No, not that Buddha
Rather, the somber, reflective one
The one it seems
The weight of the world
Rests lightly
On his androgynous shoulders
Healing ~ Pic and a Word Challenge #58
Science and logic and reason
Taught me all the many ways
I was wounded and broken
But it was not until
I met the Buddha on the road
That I began to heal
Faces in the Crowd
Than Chandni Bazaar
Expansive
A bazaar of humanity
Vital, vibrant, vivid
Variety and spice
So I set up in the median
Camera in hand
And let the people come
Reveling in
Faces in the crowd
Death and Deliverance
They deliver their dead
So the living can remember
Keeping the dead alive
Portrait of Happiness
In a city of
Greys and dust
And muted blues
A young smile
Comes to me
“Take my picture”
She says
Then stands there
Happy and poised
In vivid red
Reawakenings
I reawaken to the extraordinary adventure life is
An adventure as epic and unique
As bicycling 6,000 kilometers across China
Or as small and day-to-day as a sunset on English Bay
Enjoying a cold beer over conversation with a good friend
I take a breath, breathing in the magical divinity of existence
