Sometimes I feel so transparent
As if anyone
Everyone
Can see right into me

The Tangle of Life

in the tangle of

      possibility
          options
        choices
    consequence

that is life

     it can be difficult
          to find the branches
            which lead to the light

I dig down deep
Set roots
Hold fast
Let the world
Pass me by
Secure, safe
Autonomous

On the Bay of Timeless Wonder
I think of time moving forward
Ever so slowly
I think of time standing still

I think of time
As if it were
A thing
Of itself

As if it were
A force ravaging
My body
My memories

I like to think of love
As a fundamental force of the physical universe
Not just an emotion
Or a biological imperative

In that way
Love is as pure as light
As powerful as gravity
As infinite as time and space

Life adapts
To the harshest conditions
Some life even thrives there

Humans evolved
The mind to identify
The harshest conditions

There was something
In the forest
So bright
Daylight
Seemed like night

White hot
Without heat
And it purred
The way
A dragster purrs
Waiting
For the glove
To drop

As twilight gives way to night
The rising wind whispers
Seduction to the indigo bay
Ruffling her deep reflection
Inciting a shiver
And a shimmer

There is a mood
No
An atmosphere
To existence

An atmosphere I choose

An atmosphere within which
All events occur
And through which
All events are perceived

I take the darkened path
Knowing illumination
Will guide my way

The light

Of guides
Of friends
Of family
