Mother Ganga
Cleanse my body
Of my daily toil
Mother Ganga
Cleanse my spirit
Of my transgressions
Mother Ganga
Accept my ashes
Carry me to nirvana

A Boy and His Kite
Oh
To be that boy
Again
A little play
In every step
And every thought
A Little Joy at Twilight
The universal joy
Of a gentle wind
A small kite
And a length of string
In a child’s hand
Both the child’s
And my own
Serendipity Captured
She ran through the frame
Dressed in all the right bright colours
A child’s exuberance
Equal to the vibrance
Of the setting
Click click click
Went the shutter
All good
But one click

Ephemeral moment
Eternally captured
Manifest Colour
Suffocating smoke
Smothers glimmer and glee
Even the sun subdued
To wan gloom
Long before it sets
Still
I know colour lingers beneath
Recall its effervescence
Manifest the latent joy
Until that rises above the horizon
Of my heartÂ
Where Resides the Divine
The fire held in her hands
Burns hot and bright
But not so hot
Nor bright
As the fire in her heart
In her spirit
While those
Who participate in the rite
Focus on the ceremonial fire
To please the god, Shiva
I revel instead
In the fire and light
Of her being
Where resides the divine

More beautiful thought
This is how it really is
Of such angelic perfection
Had tapped me on the shoulder
And whispered, look
This is how it really is
My hope and faith in humanity
Cannot be broken
