Thinking of the dreams
To be fulfilled
On the other side
Sometimes, while crossing
I remember
There are dreams to be fulfilled
On both sides

Sometimes, while crossing
I remember
There are dreams to be fulfilled
On both sides
You see
The mighty columns say
This once was plain
Withered away
Exposing us
The roots of Earth
Soon enough
More rain will come
Erode the land
You’re rooted on
Until you fall
Then come to rest
As dust beneath
Our hoodoo feet
I mind
Not a bit
Becoming one
With it all
Just me
And the land
And the dance
Of the road
Connection
Transition
Evil subdued
Peaceful detachment
Awakened human spirit
A grace divine replies
The night is done
New day is come
I breathe in deep
Exhale a grateful sigh
A time before
The Clean Air Act of 1970
The Environmental Protection Agency
Which gave the Act bite
And enforced its many regulations
I am reminded of that time
When I travel to countries
Which ignore the science
Or have no political will
To preserve the Earth
Which sustains us
Forward progress
Intermittent
Passing
Ill-advised
