What more need be said
But for the hundreds who
Meander through
The tranquil peace
This evening grace
Within the shadow of
Perfection
In Thailand
Malaysia
China
Japan
Though, not the laughing Buddha
The plump one
In the midst of
A rollicking guffaw
No, not that Buddha
Rather, the somber, reflective one
The one it seems
The weight of the world
Rests lightly
On his androgynous shoulders
I arrive in Rishikesh
Where the Ganga
Gently exits
The Himalaya
Heave a sigh
Breathe deeply
And collect myself
On the riverbank
While light breezes
Shimmer on the sea
Settling snow to Earth
From branch and bough
Where it once rested
A net to capture
Brittle broken crystals
Falling gently
Alighting on smallest twig
A coat of soft white
On gnarled white bark
Physical
Geographical
Emotional
Intellectual
Personal
Romantic
And every time
Find something new
Some original way to see
Some valuable insight
