Sometimes the sun can’t set fast enough
No matter how beautiful
Because all I want
Is a crack at a new day

I take a deep breath
Refuse to let this moment pass
Without the appreciation
Every moment deserves

There is no peace
Like sunrise

Shadows play
On grey
Concrete

Tree leaves sway
On subtle
Breeze

Quiet reigns
On mindful
Day

I walk through life
Leaving impressions
Footprints in the sand
Thinking
I’m leaving my mark

A few gentle waves
Erase a footprint
A sustained wind
Fills it with sand

Impressions
Are ephemeral
As am I

I love finding
Patterns in the chaos
When order emerges
From disorder

I try not to mind
Immersion into chaos
When the irregular
Overcomes the regular

These are all
Fundamental states of being
And who am I
To argue with reality

Somnambulant blues
Settle onto silent sound
Lazy breezes ruffle gentle ripples
Lapping languid shorelines

And I
I have run out of
Unsubtle intertwining alliterations
So I kick back
And enjoy this glorious moment

Is not this world exquisite?
With the sunlight cascading
Through the clouds
Across the mountains
Onto the valley floor

Revealing greens
And blues
Ambers and golds
While the clouds
So softly textured
Puffs of greys and whites

Sometimes, the fire
It burns too hot
Can’t douse the flames
Can’t put it out

I walk away
And let it burn
It follows me
Burns up the world

But if I stay
And let it burn
It burns away
The fuel it’s fed

A ride
A ride
A beautiful ride
On a sunny crisp
Sunday afternoon

Up the hill
And through the woods
Round corners
Through the trees
Over roots and rocks

How many sunsets
Have I witnessed
In this lifetime
And all the others

How many times
Have I watched
The last rays
Of a day dying
