Beauty pens her poetry
Deftly in the nature of things
And while I have never seen
An Elf, Sprite or Dwarf
I know their presence
In the fantastical beauty
Of their works
All the brushes
Nature requires
To paint with stardust
On the canvas of existence
Artist and creator
Of worlds fantastic
And unimagined
By lesser gifts, as mine
As I turned
My mind to it
It rose
And rose again
Into a mighty fire
Startled
I turned away
Tamped it down
Put it away
Returning to my quiet
I love it so much
I tend to find it
Where others see only the everyday
Only the expected
