Waiting ~ Pic and a Word Challenge #19
For the flood tide of tourists
Arriving on buses
Destined for Islands
And secluded beaches
Carrying their openness
And prejudice
With equal tenacity
Conscious only
Of their openness
Heavy Rail
I am
As always
While steel rails compress
Concrete ties depress
And the ground rumbles
Trembling underfoot
Stairway in the Heavens
She couldn’t afford
The stairway to heaven
So there it was
Floating weightless
Just beyond the reach of those
Born too low, or fallen too far
The quality of light
I had never seen
And patterns in the world
I could never know
Until I looked through a lens
Clicked the shutter
And took the latent image home
To explore the possibilities
The eye of the world upon me
Relaxed
Settled myself
Turned my consciousness inward
And breathed
Breathing in
Breathing out
In the quiet
I observed
The peace
Of my mind
Of my body
Painting with Stardust
And chance
Some physics
And chemistry
All the brushes
Nature requires
To paint with stardust
On the canvas of existence
Beauty ~ Pic and a Word Challenge #18
As if we create the beauty
But Nature in all her ways
When left to her own devices
She paints and sculpts
Beauty undeniable
That is just the Way
The Dao, Nature’s way
Beautiful is
All that follows the Way
Grappling with Infinity
I go to the ocean
And imagine an endless sea
Of unfathomable depth
Beneath a boundless sky
