Many layers deep
Darkness receding
Clarity in the distance
Journey’s end in sight

Tug & Three Barges

In the tranquility
Of twilight
A tugboat
Tows three barges

From I know not where
To I know not where
And none of that matters

Floating on a cloud
Beneath the floating clouds
Mountains rising through
From the valley up to you

The tranquility of dusk
Descends on the world
On my spirit

So I begin
The time of
Renewal

There are places
In this world
So breathtaking
And exquisitely
Beautiful

Words cannot
Describe them
Even a photograph
Provides barely a whisper
Of the truth

Ocean waves
Setting sun
Endless sand
Onshore breeze

Connecting me
To all that is
To all I need

A secret:

There is nothing
So formidable
As nature

Our bombs
Our industry
Our pillaging

She will adapt
She will survive
She will flourish

I have only just begun
To plumb my own depths

How can I ask you
To understand me

Scattered remnants
Run down and undermined
On burnt red gravel

Reminds me
Of Saturday morning
After a long week of long days
