An edifice
After some time elapsed
Like bones
Stripped bare by desert sun

Hints at
Beauties lushly graced
Forever lost
Long stripped away

So close my eyes
To fill the space
With grandeurs from
Another time

The fortress
That is my mind
Allows windows
Onto the world

I sit by them
Gazing on the beauty
Of a dream

I Quiet my mind
Dismantling the ramparts

Those which speak clearly
With authority
Of course

But I am drawn
Inexorably
To those of mystery
Promising adventure
Challenge
And discovery

I prefer quests of query
Over sorties of attainment
