Storm Season
It was dismal grey and a little rainy when I left home, bound for the ferry terminal. A promising start.
Smoke ~ Pic and a Word Challenge #113
The sun!
The sun
This brilliant sun!
Such hopeful sight
Is breaking through
The smoky sky
Now blue above
And gold below
Backlit, the tone
Of tungsten haze
Then, lower, emerald
Of the trees
These, gratefully
Have not (yet) burned
Capturing the Finite in Infinity
A rippled mirror
The forest slumbers
On its bed of rock
Beneath a cloudy blanket
And I
Might have driven by
Then this moment lost
To the forever
Of infinite unconscious
The Narrowing Road
Narrows in
The valley steepens
Clouds draw low
The road unmapped
The way obscured
Silken Veil
Insistent weather brings
To harry mountains
Obscure the scene
I travelled far
Intent to see
But…
Soon enough
Beguile me
They dance and play
Revealing games
A silken veil
May hide the charms
But, no, no … please!
Don’t take it off
Molten Sky
Enveloping
Sweet nature’s towers
In cloudy flames
Of fiery grey
Which leap and dance
Yet leave no mark
But for the rain
Which splatters me
And like those fires
Burning orange hot
Renews the life
On mountainsides
Then when it’s past
This monochrome
Reveal the sun
To cast its light
On verdant slopes
With cotton peaks
Wind
The wind
It shakes me up
It shakes me down
I’ve been standing
In the still air
Far too long
I need
To get
Ruffled
Still not Still
I stop beside a lake
Find a place which centers the moon
Wait for the headlights on the shore
Click open
Wait (tick tick tick)
Twenty seconds wait
Click closed
Repeat
I watch the universe
In subtle motion
While my camera freezes time
Flood of Truth
Yearning for its time
To become an open truth
When time came
Truth was a flood
Which swept the world clean
And like the river Nile
After the waters recede
Fertile ground remained
A gift
Of the tide
Of reckoning
