Heaven and Earth
Aspiration and End
The latter latter
A reminder
Plant my feet
Firmly
On the former latter
Heaven and Earth
Aspiration and End
The latter latter
A reminder
Plant my feet
Firmly
On the former latter
The road I travel
Seems ever bound for darkened sky
Though the curve ahead
Suggests reprieve
So I stay the course
Hope good fortune
Diverts me once again
To better light
Sometimes the light
Inexorable
Calls out
All I need
Acknowledge
Become the light
Sometimes the light
In darkness
Seek it
All I need
Resolve
Shed the darkness
Blues run layers deep
Beneath an intoxicated heat
Rustling the lake with scattered breezes
No storm tonight
But ’round a distant point
Rough waters wait
River of light
Flows along the shore
Red and white hot
In the sky
An amber sea
Stars washed up on its shore
In my heart
In my spirit
The warm glow
Of love
For all that is
For all who are
For all I am
Daughter Ganga
Accept my gift
Of fire and flower
I set adrift this diya
My hopes and dreams
To your forgiveness
May the flame never expire
The petals forever bloom
Upon your purifying flow
An unknown road
Into unknown lands
For the spectrum of possibilities
I strike a balance
Between fear
And anticipation
Then lean heavily
On the latter
Fire on the horizon
Engulfs my little craft
So I turn away
A beacon
Calls from the darkness
But the call comes from rocky shoals
Its light is false
I risked wrecking on the shores of distraction
So turn the boat again
Into the fire
And the true light beyond which set it
The beauty of an architectural space
That is not improved by the presence of people
Is an expression of the architect’s ego
Rather than the purpose of their efforts
Pigeons in a hot sky
Morning comes
Molten sun
Casts sepia silhouettes
Surreal beauty
Wrought by an atmosphere
Fraught with death
Home in a couple of days
Where battered lungs
Complain for another week
